Matthew 6:6 Jesus Teaches about Prayer
6 May 2009
When you pray go into a room by yourself. After you have shut the door, pray to your Father Who is in secret. They your Father Who sees in secret will reward you.
I must have a private relationship with God

My Homeschooling
Last Friday we went to the church. I recited the crucifixion to my friends. Other children also performed. We sang. Afterwards we went to Tannie Deonette’s house, where we had McDonalds. Lee and Sean took everyone’s take away orders.
On Sunday we went to the church again.
Yesterday we went to the gym.
I did a math’s test.
I read My Secret Unicorn for my reading test.
On Friday Ouma Vossie’s family came to visit. We had a braai and Ouma Vossie’s milk tart.
I saw the Bolt DVD, which my mom had bought, and I enjoyed it a lot. It is about a dog that gets superpowers to look after Pennie.
We stayed at home. My daddy watched his rugby and my mommy put the dishes away and my brother made his mask and painted it red. Then he added yellow circles and stripes. He left it to dry.

Election
There are 23,000,000 registered voters in South Africa. If 80% of the voters vote, there will be 18,400,000 votes. There are 400 seats in parliament. To get one seat a party will then need 46,000 votes. To get a 66% majority the ANC will need 12,144,000 votes.
With a 2/3 majority they can change laws too easily. We don’t want that. I hope the opposition parties get 50% of the votes. That means 9,200,000 votes.

Last week news
The prosecuting authority must decide today whether they are still going to make Zuma go to court. I hope they decide to take him to court. The court will decide whether he is guilty or not. We shouldn't have a president who is guilty of corruption. We must know the truth.
Tomorrow the Blue Bulls are playing against the Crusaders in Christchurch.
Tomorrow we are going on an outing because my school closes tomorrow. On next Friday we think about Jesus who died on the cross.
I've been sick with tonsilitis but I drink antibiotics and now I am feeling so much better.

Global warming
1. I have learned about earth warming.
2. It is caused by smoke and the chopping down of trees.
3. Trees clean the air.
4. Cars, electricity and fires make the air dirty.
5. Dirty air makes a blanket around the earth.
6. The sun makes the earth warm.
7. The blanket keeps the earth warm.
8. The earth cannot cool down and it gets hotter and hotter.
9. The ice in the North and South Poles melt and the sea gets fuller.
10. Cities at the coast will be under water. Animals and plants will die.
We must switch off the lights. On Saturday all the world must switch off their lights from 20:30 for an hour.

Equinox and Human Rights
Today is equinox. That means the day and the night are the same length. From now on the days will start to get shorter until 22 June, when it is the middle of winter. Then the days will start to get longer and on 22 September it will be equinox again.
Tomorrow will be Human Rights day. On Human Rights day we think about the Sharpville killing. On 21 March 1960, 49 years ago, black people protested against passes in Sharpville because the pass law said that black people had to stay within their own place. They could not move around freely. They walked to the police station. The police were afraid. They started to shoot them. It was wrong to kill them. The pass laws were unfair and inhuman. Today everyone is equal and free in South Africa.
